Am i right in saying that the leg room in the upper grandstand is still exactly the same??

I for one am not particularly tall, 5ft 11, but do struggle with leg room in the lyndhurst let-alone the grandstand!

I hope im wrong...

Very disappointed if they haven't improved this.. people nowadays are averaging 6ft in height.

I thought I read that the design of the seat had been changed to increase the legroom.

Without changing the concrete terracing there is very little scope for modifying the legroom. The latest GoS update commented that the front row was the only one with more legroom.

It surely wouldn't be too difficult to modify the concrete!? I work in construction

It would have surely meant a new grandstand. They'd have had to remove the upper tier of concrete terracing, modify/remove/replace the steel structure, then put in new terracing, which would have needed to be deeper, so raked steeper. That would have meant a higher roof. Totally impracticable.

And the upper grandstand will be impractical if people can't sit up there because of legroom..

Can I just flag up that I am 6 ft 2.5 in tall. I have been sitting in the Grandstand since the 1970's. I accept it is not easy, but I just 'bite the bullet' , and accept it for the greater good as a supporter, in the knowledge that Plymouth Argyle are not Spurs, and never will be. At least my rear end will be more comfortable!

I always found that the old wooden seats were nowhere near as strong and stable as the modern seats, flat or sloping rather than shaped or 'bucketed'. The old seats propelled you forward so you had to use your legs to 'hold you back'. Your knees had to be held high or push your legs out as far as you can. After half an hour or so, that got tiring. Hopefully can sit back in the new seats and take the weight off. Hopefully!
I've mentioned my recent op before I know ( ) but, though I can get to HP, I do wonder if I could take nigh on 2 hours in the seat!

I sat in a seat last week and it was as comfortable as the Lyndy.

I would say about the same really. I'm 5'10" and I didn't have to sit sideways.
