Is anyone able to say whether there have been an extra row of seats put in the very front of the grandstand which up until the refurbishment was a walkway.I remember many years ago it was a row of seats (A row) but for some reason we’re removed.Looking at some of Bobs photographs from greens on screen I have a feeling that it is an extra row.Can anyone shed any light.

The captions on GoS's photographs confirmed that Row A has been put back.

So, if you sit in Row A and somebody wants to leave, you'll have to get up to let them out? (theoretically!)
So that 'wide row' advantage is lost?

Is it the same number of rows with just the lettering changed?

That applies to just about every seat in the stadium.

Well yes, which is why I asked the question.
So Row A in the Grandstand is now the same as 'just about every seat in the stadium?'.

Or is there still a 'gap'? You used to be able to get up and move about quite freely.

I recall seeing somewhere that there was a (horizontal) access aisle about 3 or 4 rows back from the front, is that true?

I've posted before that the rake on the Grandstand was such that squeezing past each other or jumping up could be actually dangerous.

Guess I'll just need to visit and assess to choose a good seat.

Don't select a seat at the rear of the east end, looks like there will be limited vision, perhaps someone could confirm/deny this is the case?

Argyle normally 'label' restricted view seats don't they?
Don't know who assesses the seats tho'?

There was a photo on GoS a few months back showing the view.

£7M+ to refurbish the Grandstand but there will still be seats that cannot be used or which will have a restricted view? Surely not...

Its slightly unfair to groan as the new stand looks 10x better than the existing one but I have to admit that I have found this so frustrating. That extra 10 meters of Stand would have completely transformed the Grandstand to an A* level for me. I understand that we do not have a bottomless pit of cash but to spend nigh on 10 million on a project to be left with a completed article which still has 30 or so unusable seats can only be described as disappointing.

My impression was that the priority was to upgrade and expand the Hospitality area to generate an improved experience and income to be later used for further development, and to replace the Grandstand roof that was about to be condemned.which would have closed the whole Grandstand This created a further opportunity to put full seating on the lower Mayflower and replace the old wooden Grandstand seats with plastic seats so allowing the number of seats to be increased, but that was as far as the available money stretched. All objectives achieved as far as I can see. The money didn't exist to fill in the corners or expand the upper Grandstand or take away the pillars or expand the roof over the full frontage of the lower Mayflower or eradicate the Restricted View seats in the Grandstand. That all has to come later once the vastly improved Hospitality area is generating a proper income. I can see no fault on the club's part here. I can't afford an extension to my house and so I haven't got one even though I could take out a loan that I couldn't afford to pay for one and I would have a much nicer house. Same thing really.
Who would true valour see, let him come hither; one here will constant be, come wind, come weather. There's no discouragement shall make him once relent his first avowed intent, to be a Pilgrim.
