Now on GoS, instalment 73 of the development story. A whopping 120 photos from Bob this week. Make the most of it - there can't be that many weeks left!

The old girl is looking really good inside and out.

Looking forward to seeing the seat pattern on the lower tier.

I should make clear, especially this week, that as usual, all captions are mine.

Thank you, as always.

I completely agree with your views on the balcony and the red advertising signs. We obviously need to maximise commercial opportunities but it's such a shame that they are in a colour that clashes so much with the white/green/black.

One day I'd like to see the balcony without any advertising again. Can Paddy Power un-sponsor our balcony?!

I’ll just say what you may or may not have been thinking, and channel some of my inner Mark Matthews while I’m at it, and say the covering of the Leitch balcony looks utterly crap. Sorry.

I know they don’t need the cash as much as us, but Everton display their original balcony and even use it in marketing materials. We’ve covered ours in MDF?

Appreciate it’s a prime spot for advertising but there has to be a more elegant way of doing it than that. Perhaps use every other gap for an advert, or 75% size adverts so the balcony is not completely obscured. Just seems crazily shortsighted to say this is a beautifully refurbished 1951 Leitch stand, then cover its prime feature in chipboard.

Possibly overreacting but that combined with yesterday’s result has left me a bit depressed

I guess they are going to put more turnstiles up the other end of the grandstand.

Thank you so much, always look forward to seeing your photos - cheers me up, especially after a defeat.

Just a couple queries, mainly centred around photo 117, the dugouts - it may be the angle - but they do look like they will be VERY close to each other. Also looking at the same photo - whats to stop the supporters just walking down to the front of the dugouts? Dosen't appear to be any indication of barriers to stop supporters entering the pitch.

From the plans it looks like they are going to bring the turn-styles next to the shop back into use.

The turnstiles are almost complete, as shown on the latest set of photos. The new ones and those to the left of the old facade/new shop are the only ones shown on the plans.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archibald_Leitch Leitch died in 1939. It is, at best, a Leitch style grandstand, which badly needed updating and it has now been done.

I have no memory of HP without adverts on the grandstand, and to expect us not to put adverts there when the cameras will now be pointing towards it is silly.
YMMV

Edit to add: Had we had the bottomless pit which some people expected, such that we could have replaced the grandstand instead of refurbing it, I for one would not have minded at all.
