This looks really odd to me, surely they could have done something to spell it ARGYLE ?

Personally i would have it spelt all together then a full block of green seats at the end.

:banghead:

It looks perfectly fine. The previous lettering was PILGRIMS but it was unanimously decided on here that ARGYLE would be better and the space was the ‘sacrifice’ to do it.

Symmetrical is better, especially as the top tier is already asymmetric.

The Y would have looked more like a v as the lower part would have been cut off by the dugouts.

Would have been nice to see the club crest in the block between the G and Y.

Was discussed previously. In order to do it justice there would have had to be specially made seats with a mixture of green and white in them as the area isn't big enough to do it in individual seats. Very expensive.

Plus of course the seats very often get replaced over the course of a season or two. Imagine having to keep a stocks of a ‘bottom right white sail’ as opposed to a ‘top left white pennant’.

Surely you'd just have to buy the seats when there was a sail on?

As the layout of the blocks doesn't allow for PILGRIMS or ARGYLE why couldn't we just have had all green seats?

It seems to be a mandatory requirement to incorporate some sort of lettering in the seats these days, no matter how naff it looks.

The seats in the Grandstand look really good replicating the 1966 season shirt.
