You’re right DevonGreenOwl Phil Collins did a fantastic ‘drum-off’ during the Invisible Touch tour.
After the opening, he made a big show of hunting around the stage before picking up a crib sheet, unfolding it slowly, and reading very deliberately “Hola”. The crowd loved it.
On the other hand, all Tina Turner could do was very occasionally give a totally disinterested “ Alright”. Sting spoke to the audience in Spanish and did a couple of numbers in Spanish as well.

Oh I forgot The Pogues as well..... that started well enough but didn’t finish that well, as by the end of the concert they could hardly standup

Well, he was an actor before he ever played in bands! He played the Artful Dodger in the London stage show of Oliver when he was about 12 I think. I always hated the way that the Gallagher brothers in particular vilified him. It wasn’t his fault that he was so bloody popular in the 90’s!

Bobby Vee, couldn’t tell from his voice it was him. Back in the 60’s his voice was quite distinctive.

Saw Dire Straits at Wembley Arena. I think I was at the end of it. Like watching a band of Tom Thumbs play. Plus I had a crick in the neck turning to try and watch.

Two gigs stick out for me. The specials and PIL both at the collesium
The Specials were great but halfway through the set a mass scrap broke out between skinheads from Plymouth and ST.Austell, the band refusing to play until everyone behaved themselves.
PIL were awful and the crowd up the front were continuously spitting at Rotten, he was covered, really disgusting. Happy days!
