My current wife has been recommended to visit the Royal William Yard, which we understand has been gentrified. We’ve got tickets for the Box next Wednesday, is it worth a visit for lunch afterwards? Any recommendations for pubs or restaurants or other interesting places there? Many thanks.

Definitely worth a visit, it's similar-ish to Albert Docks in Liverpool or Greenwich in London. Can also get ferries to Mt Edgecumbe and beyond.

There are some nice art galleries and a little park space in the middle, plenty of bars and apparently the new Hook & Line seafood restaurant is excellent.

There is a new brewery in there, think its called Steelworks, some of there beers look like they could be good.

Sounds good. I’ll try it. Thanks.

My wife and I were really impressed. Easily matches Liverpool and even Greenwich, albeit on a smaller scale. Very nice walk along the coastal path to the Barbican. This part is Plymouth at its’ best.
