A simple game you could play by yourself or with a friend. I played dozens of test matches by myself or with friends.
I'm surprised its not still available, Its an ideal toy to have with you when on holiday and the kids are stuck indoors because its raining.

This is interesting George because my ‘Howzat’ set exactly as you describe with the two metal hexagons in a tin was different to yours insofar as the appeal hexagon had ‘Not Out’ ‘No Ball’ ‘Bowled’ ‘Caught’ ‘LBW’ and ‘Run Out’ and thus increased odds of a dismissal.

Ludo as a kid.. uckers when I joined the mob!

Battleships on paper along with some stupid square game made out if dots that took longer to create then play. Before that it was matchbox superfast track and throwing my parachuting action man off the flat roof.

LOGacta Chart Soccer.
A 16 team super league, domestic cup competitions, European cup competitions all played by rolling different coloured dice, the dice you rolled were dependant on league points difference and other team rankings. the chart book had 8 complete seasons. For a stats and numbers man, i bleddy loved it.

Before Question of Sport became a big hit, there was Quizball on TV.

Can't say I remember it clearly, but it was based on a football pitch and different "routes" to goal. 1 very difficult question for the long ball" route or two or three easier questions to reach the opposition goal.

David Vine was the quizmaster and think it was held as a knock out tournament to reach the quizball final.

Gosh was it late 60s/early 70s?

David Vine born in Newton Tooclosetoexececeter Abbott.

Worked for Westward TV and Western Morning News lived in Mannamead before he went to that London.

Good bit on Wiki: He worked for BBC2 at the same time as Westward TV but Westward TV didn't know cos BBC2 wasn't broadcast down here at the time. Naughty boy! Blimey what you could get away with before the internet!! :)

Quizball never made it on to his Wiki btw!

Anyone know if he was a Green?
