Anyone else suffering from this?

Since the start if this lockdown, I've been waking up around 0400 EVERY day. :wtf:

Is it just me?

That is very creepy, because I’ve had the same thing. And 4am exactly

I wake up in the dark, look at the bedside clock and I know it will say 4.00.

I put it down to having my work desk in the corner of the bedroom, so I’m spending most of day in the place that I sleep in. Which is the first rule of NOT having a good night’s sleep apparently, and I do sleep a ‘bit’ better at the weekend when I’m not working. But I’m still in the same relatively small space of the flat, which can’t be good.

My problem is the opposite. I’m still awake at 4.00 am, very tired but unable to switch my brain off. Everything I’ve tried, eating earlier or later, going to bed earlier or later, diet, reading in bed, the radio, nothing makes any difference. Even worse after an Argyle defeat, because I start nodding off, then suddenly wake up angry.
Remember, I before E except when you run a feisty heist on a weird foreign neighbour in Chudleigh.

My problem is broken sleep, usually cycles of two hours of sleep followed by waking up and not being able to go back to sleep for an hour or so and then another two hours of sleep and waking up again.
I never finally wake up feeling refreshed.

It must be because our minds are not getting the usual sensory experiences that we used to get before the lockdowns.

My strong advice for anybody not doing it is regular strenuous exercise. Running, swimming cycling. Good for mental health too. My daily commute is from bed to my desk. Not much energy used there so you need to work off the calories, get fresh air and stretch your muscles. Even if you don't get the full 8 hours your sleep will be much deeper so you will be more refreshed.

Which makes shutting sports facilities ridiculous. I get gyms but swimming pools are not high risk and as for tennis courts, golf courses...
