Iconic player in an iconic shirt (great pic, Ian). I played in a Subbuteo league in the 1960s, and numbered each player in my team. He was my number 9 and scored many goals for me too. RIP.

RIP Mike. I well remember the Cardiff match where you scored 4, Richard Reynolds 2 and Norman Piper to make it 7. Condolences to your family, friends and those in the green army who will remember you with such fondness.

Before Mike played for Argyle he delivered milk to my junior school, when asked by some of us lads if we could jump on the back of his milk truck he just said ‘yep, hop on.’ About 10 of us young Janners would have a great time riding a very short distance to his next delivery with Mike and his colleague….thanks for the memories. I always enjoyed watching Mike, he was a hero of mine. RIP Mike and condolences to his family

Terrible news. My first two games were in January 66 where Mike scored 2 against Rotherham and a hat trick against Corby Town in the FA Cup...a hero of mine ever since and as others have said 'one of our own'.

Such sad news . One of our own and one of our best. RIP "Bicks". Condolences to your family. I remember speaking to your son on here, a while ago, and remember telling him to sit down with his Dad, get him to talk about his Argyle days, and record it. I do hope he did, it creates such an amazing lasting memory.

His Testimonial v Man City in May 1973 was my first season. I decided to watch this game rather than the home game v Rochdale the nignt before as i was not allowed to go to both as it was a school week.

Man City included Marsh, Summerbee, Bell, Book, Donachie.......what a team!
