Under 18s are a long long way from first team football at any level unless they are truly exceptional. Argyle chose to disband under 21 development due to costs but sadly a lot of young talent are just not ready at 18.

The game against Ranges was a really worthwhile one - the Argyle youngsters should have learned a lot about the requirements to succeed at the highest levels. Argyle dominated the first half, but Rangers were equally dominant in the second half. Playing against opposition of this calibre is the best way young players can learn, and is the reason why it is so important that the club's youngsters participate in top class tournaments.
Hopefully, the players (and coaches) will be able to put the lessons learned this evening into practice in their three remaining games in the tournament.

After yesterdays "walk in the park" demolition of the Colombians this was a very different challenge against a skilful Rangers team. Played in very difficult wet conditions Argyle came out of the starting blocks far quicker than their opponents, pressing and playing good football to take a deserved 2 - 0 half time lead. We knew that Rangers would not take this lying down and after probably a "tasty" Glaswegian half time team talk they completely turned the game around in the second half to dominate and score twice to level the match.
A classic game of two halves and a fair result reflecting two evenly matched sides. Well done the coaching staff to get the lads fired up right from the start and special mention to our goalkeeper for making some vital saves when Rangers laid siege in the second half.
