It's so frustrating that a club like ours has to rely on charity and loan signings.nthese signings are for short time. Please punters explain to me how we can plan and push for higher places in this league and upwards using monthly loan signings.

A loanee comes in for a month, changes things around, we spark, then goodbye, back to stage one again. SURELY, this is not the way ?

There is no suggestion that he is a shotrt term loan. Providing City don't require him back or he isn't subjust to a perminent transfer elsewhere, he is very likely to stay until the end of the season. A single month loan is normally to fill a short term problem position, normally that has come about due to an injury.

Sorry if I misread, but isn't he on a short month loan ?

If they had signed him for a straight three months (93 days) which is the maximum they can do for the whole season on Emergency Loan, then it would have ran out before the transfer window opens and there would have been dates in December when he couldn't have played. By breaking it down into three 31 day Emergency Loans they can "waste" days between each period. It's quite normal practice.

It seems at this level that this is the way. A lack of financial resources means the Manager has to duck and dive--the good things is we are developing a decent squad and Sheridan is finding a way to give people a little bit of game time. Getting out of League 2 is clearly key to improving this situation and building the finances so that we can purchase rather than borrow.

Taking a player on loan is not relying on charity. In most cases the parent club would expect a percentage of the players wage being paid by the loanee club, unless there's an agreement that a player returning from long term injury is loaned out to get match fitness, sometimes those clubs will waive payment in return for getting a fitter player back after a month or two.

It benefits the player to be playing regularly at a standard higher than he might expect (reserves etc.) and gets them prepared for regular football. In some cases it helps both clubs work out a transfer ( a try before you buy) as it did when we secured Banton. Whilst on loan, many probably didn't expect to see him back permanently.

If players help to spark a team, there's no saying that spark won't grow even after a loan player has left. Until recently we were a team that had forgotten what it was like to win games to improve and not have to win games to avoid flirting with relegation.

Great news! He's different class, has such balance, control and speed in possession and works hard alongside that
