Yep, adblockplus does the job! It's an 'add-on' in Firefox.

Yes just use adblock, you can get it on google chrome to. It'll stop everything and also adverts on youtube.

find it hard to believe people still use a browser without a adblocker, i use adblockplus ,and its free, blocks everything,can even set it to allow some adds through to help the website out ,i do not allow any on the herald site!! works on all browsers ..
