If the top PL sides think they are playing too many games and they are not getting to European finals as a result, there is a very simple solution. Reduce the size of the PL to say 18. Sorted.

Nothing new here, was always in the pipeline. The big boys got their wishes, complain about playing loads of games but don’t mind playing each other all around the world for meaningless friendly games

A non-league team far and away down the pyramid, for example Parkway, work hard to take a top League 1 club(Bolton, Wigan Reading Charlton) to an away replay, get a payday, the fans get to travel to a place they will never play at again, the money alone will pay their wage bill for a year and that has been taken away, or conversely the replay at home is chosen for TV with the money that this entails. This is a disgraceful decision, yes Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool etc don’t need the money, but Liverpool in particular is a perfect example. We worked hard up there, and earned a replay at home which sold out and was chosen for TV. Disgraceful.

The only mood music they listen to is cha-ching, cha-ching of their respective bank balances going up as they sell their respective souls globally
They are responsible for over exerting their own players in playing exhibition matches all over the world but they don't care because it is raking in millions
We saw 1st hand last week Leicester waltz in with an extensive entourage - a Club that the EFL are unable to prosecute - what is to say if they were still in the PL they will not be waltzing off to the other side of the world for an exhibition tournament to increase their bank balance because when all said & done it is all about the brand & the revenue streams it brings

I'll rephrase - if the big clubs don't want to have replays, they should play better to ensure they beat the smaller teams rather than cut the financial lifeline that is replays
