As a left back, unfortunately his position was as a wing back.

He was more or less the only player who pressed and hassled Morecambe in their own half from minute one to ninety though. His instincts aren't as attacking as Kellett but I thought he was lively in the opposition half a lot more than he was last week against Luton.

Having seen Kellett there for the past weeks, I thought it'd be very apparent to everyone how far below his standard BP is. "Young man" or not.

Attacking yes, Purrington's some way below Kellett. As for defending...let's just say there's a reason why teams don't target our left hand side for long balls as a matter of course anymore.

Imo as a LB/LM combination, they would take some beating providing both of them were on form.

I feel sorry for Purrington in the fact he aint a wing back . He a very solid left back and one who has actually shored up the left side very well

I would like to have seen Purrington at left back and then Kellet in the left wing role i think that would have suited both players but god forbid this manager ditch 3 5 2
