Celtic unbeaten all season, yet lose 7-1 to Barca, puts it in perspective. Steer clear.

If Adams was to say he is building a side that will finish mid table, possibly push for playoffs in League One, as opposed to building a side that could compete with Barcelona, would you concede that the SPL has more than a few players that can help him achieve his target?

None we could afford as the better players are playing for either Rangers or Celtic on Wages we won't pay. To put it in perspective, Steve Maclean is one of the best players of 4th placed St Johnstone and has been for the last 2-3 seasons.

There may be some young developing talent, but I think we have already plundered the best the SPL had to offer.

The transfer of Stevie Mallan from Championship strugglers St Mirren to Barnsley shows that there's plenty of talent up here, much of which flies under the radar. Jordan Jones of Kilmarnock is out of contract - he had a great second half of the season for them and would be an asset IMO to our squad. Skilful and pacy left winger - would definitely fill a gap. Scores the odd goal too.
