I always thought the option was agreed by both parties when the initial contract was signed.

Argyle tell OT that he has a one year contract but based on appearances etc that can becomes a two year deal if he proves himself. At the end of season one, if those clauses are met it carries over if the club wish.

I don't think (and from playing FM) the player has an option to decline.

I watched him play for Oxford against Millwall last season and was very impressed!
Still hope Oscar stays though.

We'll probably let him go for 300k. He's out of contract at the end of the season and he'll be 24 so no compensation.
