I know that ! I had assumed that if all games were sold out you would get a refund on the ticket because there was a waiting list?
There isn't a waiting list as such. The ticket gets listed and it's hit and miss who is on there to buy it. I listed mine twice. It didn't sell the first time, it did the second.

Last time we got back up into the championship first season 2004/05 we achieved an average attendance of 16,419 with the game against Leeds pulling in the biggest attendance of 20,555 followed by West Ham 20,220. I think this is a better stat and confirm we should aim to add minimum of 4,000 extra seats

Should/would be about 5 places higher when it comes to average attendance…
Yes, I think we would have been about 18,500 to 19,000 with a 20,000 or just over capacity. Filling in both corners for just a couple of thousand more seats in total would be totally not cost effective.
The only way as far as I can see is a second tier on the Devonport End or even the BPE to take us to 20,000.
However, that is not top of the priority list yet. We need to sustain our place in the second tier, pay for Brickfields completion and Goals completion and get the extra outside investment or a couple of handsome transfer fees before this could happen though realistically.

Any expansion of the ground needs to incorporate significant hospitality options. This brings in the big money.

I wonder how many seats we could have sold this year if we could have doubled the away allocation and got every Argyle fan a ticket?

As someone who started going Argyle when we had a 40,000 capacity, I do wonder what average attendance we could’ve achieved with similar capacity this season 🤷🏻‍♂️
Before anyone jumps on this, no I’m not suggesting we increase our capacity to 40k but maybe 25K wouldn’t be unreasonable.

It's a balance, we want to fill the stadium where possible, but also don't want to play in an empty cavern during fallow periods. I agree with the poster who said we were 5k seats down on what we really needed. The redevelopment was always too small.
