Luton, like Evans and I hope he doesn't get the boot, he kept hatters fighting despite not having PL level players, actually felt they did themselves credit, unlike Sheffield and Burnley who just whimpered from the Start.
The teams coming down donāt get their parachute payments up front but they do have this seasonās Ā£100 million pound plus Premier League earnings to set themselves up for an immediate return to the Prem. The only benefit they have at the start of their first Championship season is the knowledge that the parachute money will come in to balance the books if they fail. Leicester wont be getting theirs, it will go into the EFL solidarity fund As will that of Leeds or Southamptonās should either win the play offs.We will definitely be the favourites for relegation. The teams coming up are very strong and the teams coming down from the Premier league come down with a Ā£65 million parachute. Unless there is serious investment from who knows where, we will do well to take it to the last game of the season as this season. Obviously Whitticker has to go, hopefully for a double digit with regards to millions as a start. Strikers and midfielders as a priority, and talking of priorities, a new manager would be very helpful. Massive summer, decision time within the club, caution or release the purse strings somewhat. Let's see what transpires. As for me personally, great to enjoy weekends again, at least until August. Coygs!!.
I'll take any club starting with a 10 point deduction...this will help us!
I think some fans have forgotten that those teams around us at the bottom were obviously not that good either. An awful lot can happen during the close season. It will be tough but to say that the three promoted sides are strong and likely to do well is merely an assumption. We will definitely be the favourites for relegation. At least we shouldnt be bottom after first week. Probably won't be another Rotherham next season taking care of one of the places. The Blades are starting on minus 2.
Sheffield United will face a points deduction for their next season in the EFL when relegated from Premier League
Sheffield United will face a points deduction for their next season in the EFL; Blades will be deducted two points at the start of the next season that they are in the Championship, with a further two points suspended; Punishment relates to the 2022/23 seasonwww.skysports.com
Unless it has changed recently it was always the case that if parachute payments werenāt needed it went back to be split amongst the PL. Apologies if it has changed. Always stunk that they grabbed more money. The teams coming down donāt get their parachute payments up front but they do have this seasonās Ā£100 million pound plus Premier League earnings to set themselves up for an immediate return to the Prem. Same applies to teams going up. They donāt get the Premier League millions up front upon promotion. When Argyle win promotion to the Prem they wonāt immediately have millions to build a PL squad but they will be able to set budgets in the knowledge that the money will come in over the season.
One of the concerns the EFL has on parachute payments is that the Premier League dictate the split of the solidarity money and that the relegated clubs receive their parachute money from that pot of cash BEFORE the remainder is split amongst the EFL clubs.Unless it has changed recently it was always the case that if parachute payments werenāt needed it went back to be split amongst the PL.
