15 to go. Argyle in danger of being complacent, have eased off a little - then out of nothing Harvey curls a beauty into the top right. 3-0

Hughes gets caught a couple of times. Wotton trying to drive the pace by shouting "pass". Norburn finfing space and picking his passes. Roberts and Palfrey busy. Harvey doing the Reid shrug between moments of brilliance. Bentley better 2nd-half.

Argyle win another corner - when they really should have hit the back of the net. Argyle played the ball round and Norburn smashes the fourth. Full-time 4-0

Night all.

How did lecointe look?

Led the line reasonably well but needed the ball played sooner. Held the ball up well too but don't forget the relatively low quality of the opposition and his lack of fitness. Norburn (he does look like he's put on a little weight), Purrington and Harvey were the stand-out players but they all made errors and, on the basis of last night, would not be pushing anyone in the first team apart from maybe Purrington who was out of position last night at CB. Bittner did all he needed to without being overly stretched by some poor finishing. Bentley looked what he is - inexperienced. The youngsters look OK but Steer and possibly Hall apart they all looked a long way off getting near the first team (insert your favourite anti Sheridan/Youth joke here).

From someone who has seen a lot of youth coaching and managing - I was impressed with Wotton and McCarthy, encouraging and asking players to do better rather than ranting. Wotton didn't let up all evening and didn't let the red card incident (right in front of him) become more than it was.

I never did think it was pure coincidence that we had become one of the best defensive units in Europe ever since Wotton took over coaching the defence. You can point at us adding quality to our defence and negative tacics but those sorts of qualities only ever make you a good defensive unit, to be one of the best defences in Europe takes some doing, no doubt down to the coaching and organisation provided by Wotton, a man who has been there and done it all defense wise in his playing days.
