The sale is what Blackpool supports have been wanting for years. Not the receivership though.

Ouch wouldn't wish this on any set of fans but the core Blackpool fans have been pushing for this.

Good luck to them in getting out of that mess

Avery sad day for Blackpool fans.

For a lot of them it is a great day.

They seem to think they won't get deducted points, despite being put into receivership, but it is a price they are willing to pay to get the club sold.

I moved this one back as it's VERY relevant to Argyle.

What’s the difference between receivership and administration?

This is an example where the points deduction should be waived. It would just be punishing the fans more. I’m sure the Blackpool fans would gladly take a 12 point hit to get rid of the Oystons though.

They are in 8th position on 47 points. The outcome will be interesting not only to Argyle. Should the Club fold, would it mean one less club gets relegated? What will happen to their points lost / gained should they ever fold

Admin is when company recognises they can’t pay their debts. Call in administrators who basically do deals with creditors to pay so much in pound. Bit like one of these debt firms who do the same for individuals in debt problems to avoid bankruptcy (IVA).

Receivership tends to be when a company has a mortgage - they fall behind - so mortgagee appoints a receiver to step into companies shoes and do everything and anything (like selling the mortgaged property) to get the mortgagees money back. The mortgage man runs the show. Worse than admin as they work for person owed money. Bit like when you don’t pay your mortgage and you might get repossessed! So club might get sold to new buyer by receiver to pay the debt.

Bit boring - but there you are!

Just looking at the Blackpool forum

Now that IS a split fanbase.

I'm not sure the NAPM people will ever accept the 'scabs' (sic) as proper fans when this settles.

From a selfish point of view, good day for those of us who have bets on Argyle to finish in the top half, would also put another team between us and the drop zone!

Hope Blackpool get through this and the fans get their club back, they seem to have been at odds with the club for years now!
