The idea has a lot of logic behind it.
- clubs will be able to travel on the day to their fixtures more frequently , saving a club like, say Torquay vast sums of money over the season where they aren't paying to put 30 odd people up in hotels in Barrow and Harrogate etc.
- Gates would certainly be up with more away fans able to attend the games across the course of the season and more local rivalry.

If Argyle were to have to remain in a newly formed division 4 South I wouldn't exactly be heartbroken about missing games with Morecambe and Grimsby

Why would it be a bad idea though?
What proportion of Torquay's, or Barrow's or even Argyle's budget goes on travel and accommodation for 30-40 people per season?

Out of Interest does anyone know why North and South divisions were abandoned in the first place?

We are in to a new world. Some people e.g. Kelsie havent got that yet. Any ideas that help save money both for club and fans have to be worth thinking about. There wont be much of it about.

Bradford
Grimsby
Carlisle
Oldham
Scunthorpe
Morecambe
Macclesfield
Barrow

How much do you think it costs Argyle to travel to and stay at these places overnight?

Watch the last Virtual Board Meeting & you will see that Simon Hallett & Andrew Parkinson are dead against. They said that travel costs are a very small percentage of their overall costs. The football director (can't remember his name) said that the travelling was very good for team bonding & they watch videos of their opponents on the way up.
Hallett concluded that the travelling is what makes Argyle fans special.

makes a lot of sense clearly things can't go on the way they are or there will be a lot of clubs going to the wall something needs to be done.

Love the idea, more local derbies, more of a fan connection and less costs, with the exception of the mighty GA away supporters are a dying bread due to cost and distance and more importantly time, a shorter trip will help all bank balances,

How many Torquay fans would come to HP as opposed to those from Barrow

Total sense I& you ask me
