It was the first use of the stand, 22 Sep 1951, against Bristol Rovers (we lost 2-1). Attendance: 25,593. Only one third of it was open because the rest was still being built. That area is ‘covered’ though, it just shows that even in fully covered stadiums the lower tier is liable to get wet depending where the wind is blowing.
