Cliff Jackson RIP

Sad news. One of the first really good players that I remember seeing at Home park and one of the many who were sold during the 1960s without adequate replacements being signed. Think he cost a fair amount of money when he signed from Swindon, seem to remember seeing him play for Torquay against Argyle later in his career.

RIP Cliff

RIP. Played in one of the first teams I saw play and unless my memory is fading was an old fashioned inside left.

A wonderful player to watch. He just seemed to glide over the ground. He was one of the first players I saw at Home Park and I really missed him when he went to Palace. Over the next few years Argyle was blessed with classy inside forwards players - O'Neill, Bloomfield,Burnside etc not all of whom were totally appreciated by the crowd. Cliff seemed a more modest and understated sort of player and I think was more appreciated.

My memory may be playing tricks but I think he cost £8,000.
