Thanks for the reports.

Credit to McFadzean for lasting 90 minutes after being out for so long and playing in an unfamiliar position.

The top four are now pulling away so it's looking like three teams from four for automatic promotion and we play two of them at home.

Everything can change for any team with a couple of defeats. Still a long way to go....
we all know that but can you please for 1 day.

I'm delighted! My comment was about the consolidation of the top four teams. I disagree, any one of them could slip back into the play off pack with a short run of bad form. Too many games left to call the top four.

Looking good for Argyle atm though. :scarf:

A fantastic result in difficult conditions. Sarcevic’s goal was top drawer.

Palmer - 6 - Should save the first.
Wootton - 6 - Got lucky with a few mistakes going unpunished.
Canavan - 7 - Solid
McFadzean - 8 - MOTM for me. Excellent return, driving us up the pitch. Looking forward to seeing him back on the left.
Cooper - 6 - Looks more like an attacking midfielder being shoehorned at LWB with each game.
Edwards - 7 - Much more defensively stable down the right with him there.
Bakinson - 7 - Excellent second half, a real powerhouse.
Sarcevic - 8 - Player of the season does it again!
Mayor - 7 - Just needs to improve the end product but thought he was much better in difficult conditions.
Moore - 7 - His movement is intelligent and it makes a difference. Has to keep his place.
Jephcott - 6 - Worked hard, but barely involved.

Big win given the other results. If we can beat Crewe this has been a productive week in our most difficult week of the season.

All about opinions i guess...
I thought Bakinson and Mayor were v poor first half, neither could complete a pass.
Both better second half, but if you look at their 2nd goal, Bakinson gives the ball away on half way line and then fails to stop Wilson getting his shot off despite being stood beside him.
Mayor got some crosses in, but few runs with the ball and no shots, plus a corner that went direct to first man. I guess he always has that latent threat though.
Sarcevic was awesome all game, and great goal. I thought Moore was v good....and Hardies goal was sheer class, he had 3 or 4 around him when he received the ball and created his own space, beautiful run and well taken shot from a v tight angle...
What a finish to the game!
Glad i was there to see it.

I thought the report from Salford was totally accurate and fair. They made a bright start and were the better team for the first 20 minutes - successive defeats looked a distinct possibility until we scored. From then on we had the edge in a fairly poor first half, with the wind affecting their through balls and our passes inariably going astray.
The second half was different fare. It was still windy with some sleet, but the teams seemed to adapt better. Ther first goal just evaded Palmer's grasp. Sarce scored the best goal that I have seen in a while - and we were able to watch the ball all the way. Salford pulled back a well-taken second but fortunately that wasn't the end of the scoring.
It was cold and at times wet, but the second half was immense, with the Green Army creating a good athmosphere. There was an incident right in front of us - it looked like one of the stewards made a gesture that upset some of our fans. They were two big blokes and the steward was 10 stone at most, so it wouldn't have been a fair contest. The poice handled it well. The Argyle fans were allowed to stay and the steward was escorted off the pitch!
Excellent performances across the board - Sarce and Bakinson were huge, Jephcott battled well against a towering Centre-Half and he played well with Moore. Cooper put in a few good crosses and Mayor was always a nuisance. His constant short corners seemed to really wind up the GA, although they usually led to threatening crosses. Great cameo from Ryan Hardie.
