Reid denies interest

Meanwhile, Reid has denied a national newspaper report which stated he was interested in signing Liverpool pair Stephen Darby and Nathan Eccleston on loan.

Darby is a 22-year-old right-back while Eccleston, 19, is a striker.

Reid saw Liverpool reserves draw 3-3 away to Blackburn Rovers last Tuesday on a scouting trip to the north west of England.

Darby and Eccleston both played in that game, with Eccleston getting two of the Reds' goals.

Reid, though, insisted he was not trying to bring the duo to Home Park.

He said: "Both lads are decent, but I think someone is taking a flier with that one."
