I can see us selling Mason, hopefully we can get a good price for him, although i would imagine much like the gosling deal most of it will be in add ons!!

Add ons are no good for us may not be here
also buying clubs only have to forget to stick to the terms of there contracts and they have to pay nothing

Everton should hang there head in shame they have contributed to this mess as much as most theys should have been forced to have paid up even if they made a loss themselves

Agree GE. EFC should be made to pay the remaining amount to the Club. The PL is the reason that so many clubs are struggling to survive and as such should be helping to support smaller clubs. Instead of paying significant parachute payments to clubs who get relegated they should support clubs in financial difficulty provided it is proved that the financial difficulty is down to bad times rather than malpractice.

Noone = £300k
Fallon = £250k
Seip = £50k
Donnelly = £100k
McLean = £50k
----------------
Total = £750k

Wages from above plus Timar, Molyneaux (released) = £25-30k / week = £600k

There, thats the HMRC bill paid and 600k off the wage bill to June, how can we afford to sell anyone else?

That HMRC bill is for the quarter ending in September I think so we will have another HMRC bill to pay for Oct-Dec and we are also accumulating another VAT bill by selling all these players.

Unless outside money comes in, which we have been told unlikely by our saviour, we will continue to sell anything we possibly can to avoid more winding up orders. Keeping the club afloat has taken priority over the need to have a competitive squad in this league.

Don't forget Southports chunk of Noone's fee.

Not only do we have to pay all our debts, up to date, but we will also have to prove we are financially viable going forward.

This means we HAVE to dramatically reduce our outgoings, so ANY player that can be sold will be sold, not just to pay off our debt, but to reduce the ongoing amount of money needed in the future, which will make it easier to justify PAFC as a going concern. We will also have to show how the outstanding loans and other debts will be paid off.

This is a fire sale due to pathetic financial management in the last 2-3 years based purely on greed. The ground will be sold to pay the remaining debts and we will be back to renting our ground at the bottom of the 4th division. A big shame when you think how good a position we were in 3 or so years ago.

In a good position 2 - 3 years ago?

When did we start incurring our debts? We have been selling the family silverware for several seasons, initially with a decent enough team to deal with the loss, unfortunately over time we have continued the sales at Argyle prices and brought in players who haven't performed, hence a huge squad on championship wages and no intention to move on when on a decent income.

A lack of investment, or setting Argyle up to pay for itself never happened.

For us to proceed I truely believe that investment is required not just int he team, but the infrastructure, speculate to

A. Why not build a hotel regular income all year round. Also saves putting up players in local hotels when we have our own.
B. Ground share with Albion? Home park filled most weekends during the rugby/footy seasons, more income for further improvements. If a board combined from the Rugby and Football board with an interest to support both in a view if one or both do well then more income for the future for there dividands and for further investment.
C. Combine Training facilities as possible, a gym that could be open to public in the afternoon or evenings, extra income again, could be part of a hotel complex?
D. Build an ice rink possibly team, revenue from ice skaters, board over for Raiders to play their basketball games and then also becomes a venue for indoor concerts / sporting events ala Pavillions, when does that close?

I know alot comes from the 5 year plan and the failed WC bid and again would take investment and a lot of money but would generate a constant income to support several of our cities sport clubs.

May be seen as Pie eyed, but the hope that gates will increase as it would appear Stapleton hoped for year in year out as the actually gates steadily declined will not pay wages or for team investment. We need a constant stream of income or a sugar daddy, and no sugar daddy has appeared yet.

When Ollie was in charge we were in a good position.

The greed of property development, and the stupidity of bringing in too many players on high wages based on nothing more than hope was our downfall.

.

You think we could get Argyle players, Albion players, the general public AND King Tynan in the same gym?

Nightmare!

Although, there would certainly be a case for working with Albion re: training. Imagine some of the fitness work is similar, and neither team would require the gym full time and by working together we could have a better one.

And we could send some of our youngsters to their canteen to bulk up... :)

or the fact that when we were in that good position we were still only getting 13000 attendances...

Exactly, the results may have been good and league position, but financially nothing was done for the long term survival, hence we are reping the rewards as such at present.

Short term rich long term poor scenario.

What ever happens we do need to establish a decent income and live within budget, if we can increase the budget by reducing cost, ground share spreads upkeep costs with a combined income to provide that budget, which would leave more for both Argyle and Albion to add to the team coffers.

Surely the state of the economy etc has made everyone realise we have to live within our means, budget and if possible make savings to reduce costs, be more effecient, surely a combined Argyle/Albion would reduce overheads for both clubs and if you provide a facility then Raiders possibly in the mix?

ground sharing is ok but the pitch takes a bashing with rugby being played every other week.

We didn't not pay £500,000 for a quality pitch for that. If we were only going to use it for football we could have not payed a lot less.
