To be honest I think it’s quite simple, the Russian police know what they’re doing whilst the French police at the Euro’s didn’t have a scooby.

IIR the Russki rozzers rounded up the worst of their ultras the week before the tournament started, with the rest being banned from being anywhere close to the stadiums for the games. On top of that was the statement that anyone arrested for hooliganism would get a 5 year jail sentence which seems to have had the desired effect and stopped our "crew" from risking travelling.

Guess they didn't fancy a few years in a Siberian gulag. Make Dartmoor seem like a picnic.
