A no brainer for me - Morgs. Without his goals and all round contribution in the first half of the season, we would have been relegated a long time ago.

The £2M fee plus wages for Azaz would’ve been absorbed by Morgan’s increased value if we’d moved for him, they clearly complimented each other.

Performances have dropped off but his goals have been a massive contribution so has to be Whittaker followed very closely by Gibson.

If you'd have asked this question at Christmas it would have been a tough call. Whittaker, Azaz, Gibson, Hardie, Cundle and even Houghton all had impressive first halves of the season.

Fast forward five months and you really have to pick through the bones to find a winner. Gibson has a shout but it can only really be Morgan Whittaker, even though his performances have fluctuated between anonymous and terrible in recent months.

There is a reason Morgan was voted by his peers into the Championship team of the season, and that’s because he’s a very talented player who we will miss when he leaves. Yes he’s not been at his best in the last few games but the club has been in turmoil since SS gutted us and Azaz left. Honourable mention to Gibson who has been pretty steady throughout.

We did actually have a poll on 23 December and the top three were:
1 - Whittaker 62%.
2 - Gibson 18%.
3 - Houghton 12%.

Without Whittakers goals and assists we'd already be relegated. I know he's gone off the boil over the last couple months but for me it's an absolute no brainer.

Not so sure, Azaz pushing Whittaker very close first half, but as they both left in January, I vote Gibson.

I’d be very careful. Morgan could yet be our saviour. I have a funny feeling……

Whittaker for me, thanks to all those goals and assists!
Gibson runner up as he has been consistently good. Hardie great before Xmas Galloway great after Xmas. Randell has been fairly decent too all season.
