1st April £26,045 from 248 supporters.
8th April £29,817 from 308 supporters.
15th April £37,897 from 341 supporters.
and today:-
£39,337 from 356 supporters with 14 days remaining.
78% of £50k target achieved and, at least, 420 free tickets for our NHS heroes.
Very impressive when so many are out of work or furloughed.
Another milestone reached.
£45,147 from 381 supporters; that’s 90% of £50k target with 7 days remaining.
Over 490 free tickets for our NHS heroes.
Excellent progress in last 24 hours.
Now £47,733 from 410 supporters; 95% of target with 6 days remaining.
Now over 520 free match day tickets for NHS heroes.
Potential to achieve and, possibly, exceed £50k target.

The packages that people are buying to get something in return (season tickets etc) is good here, but this whole crowdfunder thing is a disgrace when we are throwing thousands of pounds at having the pitch relaid and have furloughed most of the club staff for the tax payer to pay.

Well I have put a solid sum into this appeal and I am very pleased that they are planning to relay the pitch. The reason why people are putting money in here is to help the club - and it's smaller suppliers - run something like a normal business. Delight not disgrace.

Meanwhile the tax payer picks up 80% of the wage bill while we relay the lawn at a cost of thousands of pounds.

The purpose of furloughing is to allow businesses to retain employees whilst they have no work to perform and the company's income is reduced by the current circumstances. There is nothing in the rules to stipulate that all other planned business activity has to stop - indeed on the contrary the intent is to allow businesses as much help as possible to both retain employees and to maintain a functioning business.

The club has virtually zero income at the moment, and will have very limited cash reserves, but is still topping up pay as I understand it. As already stated SH is prepared to fund loses this FY - and even after June there will be no new income until some clarity emerges. So safe to assume that SH is funding capital spend as well. Given that he takes zero income from his shareholding we should be very grateful - he has dug and continues to dig very deeply into his own pockets.

As an aside the HMT view will be to assume/hope that most businesses continue to function normally - ie retain employees, continue to plan investment etc. If they don't we are really in trouble. As an example a relaid pitch will attract VAT payments, tax/NI on income from employees working it, reduce demands on UC, use of subcontractors etc, etc. All the sums go into the mix.

As I said I and other are clearly happy to do our bit to keep the thing moving - and hopefully £60K will go back into the local economy that would not otherwise have been there. A small gesture - but we need lots of small gestures at the moment.

The crowdfunding is to support small local businesses to help them keep going in this very difficult time. The work on the pitch is what would have happened at the end of the season anyway, i think Daz is conflicting what the funding is actually for,
