Sweepers are not used so much anymore but when they are whoever does it is never expected to also support the attack as well.

Keep him fit and in the attacking mid position and we'll continue to pick up points. :scarf:

The greatest was Beckenbaur. He used to attack as well. As England sorely found out in 1970 WC 1/4 final after Bobby Charlton was subbed when we were 2 up. To rest him for the semi. :facepalm:

Disagree completely.

We've been so much better going forward in recent weeks with Sarcevic in front of the midfield, he provides a real link between the midfield and the attack.

Yeah totally agree with this .. Sarcevic is key to our attacking threat, long may he play in an advanced midfield role.. he’s a top player!

We don't need to change the system, and also I think ness compliments sarcevic as well and should get some credit for how sarcevic is playing!!

A sweeper plays behind the centre halves, not in front. Besides which, the man is needed in midfield to get up and at 'em.
