What a dump of a ground that was.

A disappointment that we only drew though.

Pompey had the dream smash and grab, they were never ever top of that division until the whistle went at the end of our game that day.

Was a strange atmosphere as the players looked embarrassed at losing it, but the GA reacted well and then it was the usual promotion mayhem when the players realised.

I hadn't realised that had we held on to our 12th minute lead a few days before at Pompey ultimately cost we would not have surrendered the title to Pompey on the final day. Looking at our team back then certainly illustrates the gulf between then and now.
