The arrogant dismissal of Ian Roscrow

Genuinely, no agenda. I had to even google Ian Roscrows name to make sure it had some accuracy.

This isn't something that keeps me up at night, I just recall being a bit confused at the time. Ian Roscrow seemed like a smart appointment for a lower league club.

Football is also moving beyond the need for old football heads that know the game making all of the decisions. That is how Ryan Lowes interview at the time came across. We are pretty much all in agreement that he needs new ideas for the defence, so why not in recruitment too?

It's a sophisticated part of the game now. Why not consider specialists? From what I can gather Ryan Lowes replacement for Ian Roscrow was... Ryan Lowe.

I'll say it again. I want Ryan Lowe to succeed with this club but what is the point in this forum if you can't post without it being labelled an agenda?

There's a strange edge to some of the things you've said on this thread. In your OP, forthright words like "arrogant" and "mercenaries" gave the impression it was a subject on which you had strong views.

You continue to want to blame the whole scenario on Ryan Lowe - "Ryan Lowes replacement for Ian Roscrow was....Ryan Lowe". It wasn't Lowe who dismissed Adams, it wasn't Lowe who set up the new structure, and what was Roscrow's job is now absorbed in the role of.... Neil Dewsnip.

As Davie Nine said, if you'd wanted to highlight the casualties of the managerial change it would have been more natural to take up the cause of the longserving Hodges and Atkinson, rather than the recently arrived Roscrow.

As everyone has said this situation happens regularly when there is a change in manager.

Without knowing what went on behind the scenes, I do feel that Kevin Hodges was harshly treated.

Hodges is a club legend. He was a very good player who is also the club’s record appearance holder. He managed the club during a very difficult time under Dan McCauley and then returned as youth coach. Hodges association with Argyle goes back to the 1970s and, personally, I’d like to see him on the board as an advisor. The fella has pretty much seen and done it all.

The unflattering press release that Argyle published on the website when Hodges left was appalling in my opinion and showed no respect. Those who run the club went down in my estimation after I read that.

I would agree with him being harshly treated in the manner of the departure, but ultimately being a club legend doesn't qualify you for the absolutely critical task of developing the club's young players.

It definitely was/is odd how the club have recently released very short statements or none at all, when long-serving staff have left.

Considering Roscrow was appointed only a week before Adams was dismissed, it definitely seems to confirm that the Accrington game was a big turning point for the owner/board.
