Apart from all the accolades Tony received in the UK he was also at the top of his game here in Canada with the Vancouver Whitecaps and also the national team.
All round top class guy.
R I P Tony
Tony Waiters was an amazing manager and during his reign we had some great results and played attractive football. I can recall the 3-0 win at 1st Division QPR on a muddy pitch in the League Cup which led to one national newspaper having a backpage headline Waiters Wonders Walk on Water which became a song for the Devonport End. Thanks Tony for the wonderful memories and sincere condolences to his family. RIP Big Man
I know there was a minute silence at the Newport game last evening, but, wondered if there could be a further tribute at the Portsmouth game to Tony Waiters.
Would be fitting with a TV audience watching proceedings at Home Park.
Here's a petition they've started in Vancouver to get a statue of Tony outside the stadium BC Place. Maybe Argyle fans would like to help push the numbers up.
