Who's going to Torquay this weekend then? My wife and I are going and looking forward to it.

I won't be as I'm not yet convinced the owner isn't up to something.

I will not go through the turnstiles at Plainmoor until I know he won't benefit.

Saw quite a few Argyle fans wearing various items of club apparel. I didn't notice anyone wearing Exeter colours but there may have been some City fans there.

Torquay United formally thanked us for our support over the PA and a number of their fans personally thanked my colleague and me as we were leaving the ground.

It was actually quite a good game.

Torquay got the first goal and were the better side in the first half. But they spent much of the second half defending, which they did brilliantly to get the result they desperately needed.

Could do with Argyle grinding out a couple of wins like that.

Not quite true. At least half of the teams in their division are semi-professional, not fully professional outfits. I'm suggesting that this is a model they should really consider if they want to survive. Others clubs might be OK, but at tier 6 of the pyramid I think Torquay will struggle to survive as a club fully professional club.

Looks like I'm not alone in thinking this...

Given Torquay's league position it would suggest not all players deserve a professional salary.
