Agree with this. Brighton were superb to us and it will never be forgotten👏👏
Torquay have always been an honest club. Which match do they want us to attend?
This Saturday, home against Aveley, all support welcome

I understand the need for speed but people will have plans for the weekend.

Perhaps if you can't attend you could buy a ticket for the match?

Just a thought.

Unless there's a flaw in my usually impeccable logic, there's a problem for me in doing that.

As you pointed out earlier, the first thing to go in Administration is the credit card machine.

If a ticket can be bought remotely then a credit card process still exists.

Ergo they're not (yet) in administration.

Ergo all money spent goes to Clark Osbourne.

As Grandmaster Flash would say... "so don't do it" 👎🏻

Aim for 23rd March then I'd say
I think that works much better.

I admire your sense of urgency and immediacy, but those of us who've lived through administration know only too well that it's a marathon not a sprint. Saturday is symbolism only, **** all will come of any showpiece protest there.

Make a big thing of 'loads of Argo comin' in support on Sat'dy' and sadly, as folk have already made other commitments, they won't. Consequently it'll come over as a) we don't care and b) Gulls Fans can't organise the proverbial... neither of which are true.

But to be fair given my observation above about TUFC not actually yet being in administration... I'd be more for organising a boycott for Aveley, not a mass turn-out... otherwise he profits from it 🤨

Make it a fixed date in the calendar, far enough ahead for this administration to be real and far enough for planning and prep. It'll have vastly more impact.

Ironically, given the swathes of empty seats/terraces I saw at Plainmoor earlier in the season, I've been 'locked out' of Home Park for the forseeable due to recent fairweather demand and the bleedin' points system pecking order that sprung up as a result.

As an exile in the South East i've had to get my football elsewhere but as luck would have it my local team has had its game on the 23rd switched for TV.... so I'm free that day 👍🏻

...but I will need evidence your club is actually in administration before I risk giving a single penny to Clark Osbourne.

...and I will need evidence that your fans have a proper fire lit under their own backsides before I traipse across the country as part of a rent-a-mob.

Well said X Isle. All I've seen so far is this from Green scenes:

I saw on Twitter/X that March 23rd has been earmarked as a ‘mass Argyle support’ day if anyone can make it (home to Hampton & Richmond)

Let's have something concrete posted and I'll definitely go along.

There are plenty of clubs that survive with that level of crowd at that level and even higher, so there are clearly other issues.

Not quite true. At least half of the teams in their division are semi-professional, not fully professional outfits. I'm suggesting that this is a model they should really consider if they want to survive. Others clubs might be OK, but at tier 6 of the pyramid I think Torquay will struggle to survive as a club fully professional club.

FWIW, even what I said about it being a sticking plaster, if we do agree to make the 23rd a mass Argyle support day, then I'll be there.

The most imporatant players, at this stage, in this sorry tale are the newly appointed administrators, TUST and the Council. TUST need to get on board with the administrators. The AFT did so as soon as Guilfoyle wallked into Home Park and we got a vital seat at the top table. The administrators hold the key to the future of the club and will do what they can to salvage the financial situation. They will control all monies paid to the Football Club. TUFC are unusual in as much as virtually all their debt is owed to one of Osborne's companies. His appointment of an administrator is his only realistic chance of recovering some of the £4.2m he has allegedly put in. I would be vsuspicious of the move. I just hope that somewhere along the line there is no HMRC lurking - that could spell real trouble. That is why it is an imperative that TUST get on board with the administrator and get an undertaking of open communication. It was an effective strategy with the AFT. TUST also have to work with any potential 'investors'. Embrace them all and trust none of them. It is deeds not words.

The next task is to get the Council on board. Thankfully, Vivien Pengelly and Tudor Evans were firmly on board to do all they could to save the club. So it proved. Get the MP on board too. TUFC only lease the ground from the Council. That lease is the most important asset to protect and enforce. The Council have always had a 'dream' to relocate TUFC to a more suitable and purpose built facility (3G pitch etc). You only have to look at what has happened with the Stadium for Cornwall to see what happens when Council's try and deliver 'dreams'. TUFC abolutely have to remain playing at Plainmoor. A statement from the Council needs to be secured expressing support for TUFC, confirming that Plainmoor will remain their home. I would also suggest a moratorium on lease payments until the future of the Club is secured.

My worry is that if no buyer is found then the Club will end up witth a Company Voluntary Arrangement. Non-League requirements are different to the EFL and are more stringent to satisfy. In the meantime under the Football Crditor rules the players and management get paid first. Like at Argyle the staff do not. TUST need to support the staff as the GT's 50/50 and others did at Argyle.

I could go on but as laudable as it is encoraging the support from other clubs will only go so far. The Exeter Trust were brilliant with the AFT. The Football Supporters Federation / Supporters Direct should immediately be contacted. Again a brilliant organisation with an abilitry to pull the right levers.

TUFC supporters face a daunting task to secure their future. It is an imperative to get to the end of the season in tact. The twists and turns will be debilitating but ultimately if there is an unshakeable will of supporters the club will be saved. I am sure all Argyle and Exeter fans will do all they can to support Torquay but ultimately the most important thing is to help yourselves.

Has it gone into administration though?

'Intention to appoint' doth not administration make.

Until it is in administration this could still be a cunning rouse to cut costs... he's already lost probably his biggest wage earner from the books WITHOUT actually entering administration.
