I have read all the wonderful tributes over the last two days so I would like to add mine.I never met him but saw him a lot over the years at Home Park although I did literally bump into him once and said hello, but it’s his brilliant biased commentaries that I will always remember, you were the best Sparksy God bless you.

I'm so sorry, loved the commentary he gave.
But what's happened they said he had just been moved to hospice care a couple of days ago, and now he has passed away, so soon.
I don't understand, it's so sad :(

Another great memory of Sparsky was when Argyle travelled to the Emirates Stadium to play Arsenal back in 2009. We had the game on the box at home but it was one of the National TV Commentators and after about 5 minutes it was simply no use, I went to the radio in the kitchen and put on Sparsky's commentary via BBC Radio Devon. We then turned the sound down on the box and cranked Sparsky's commentary up! Our house had become so accustomed to Sparsky's match day commentaries that nothing else would do. He always brought things alive in his usual warm passionate janner style. Both on and off the pitch. We felt we almost knew him personally. RIP Gordon. Without question the finest ambassador Argyle and the City of Plymouth has ever seen.

These things can be terrifyingly quick, unfortunately. I’m tempted to say it might be a blessing for it not to be drawn out, but agreed it makes it all the more shocking.

The club has taken the decision to pay full tribute to Gordon and his remarkable career during our Sky Bet League One fixture against Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday, 25 October.

Rest in peace Sparksy. During my teens he was the soundtrack to my Saturday afternoons if I couldn't get to Home Park. Such a sad loss but grateful that he has left me with so many great memories.

The club website has a list of some great moments of commentary. This may have been suggested already but wouldn't it be a fitting tribute to have these spliced together and played before the Janners song every week.
