I find no pleasure in watching Argyle ruin local football. We shouldn't be allowed to play any professionals at this level in my opinion and it surprises me that many are okay with this, but against B teams. It is the same practice, except in this instance we are the big fish.

Why should we be allowed to distort their league? One week a local team will play kids and the next week one of their rivals will play the best part of a League One side.

Would also agree but ruining local football is a bit strong

The clubs knew this would happen when they voted for it and most are happy for the extra revenue when argyle play

Perennial problem of how to improve squad players or give those returning from injuries game time

The standard is just not good enough to achieve either really

So should that argument be used for B-teams (replacing Argyle with Manchester Utd/City/Chelsea/etc.) entering the league, you'll have no objections?

Before Argyle reserves joined the league Tiverton Town reserves played in the SWPL, so the precedent had already been set allowing Reserves teams to play.
Argyle had to apply to join the League, so one would assume the majority were more than happy to let them join.

And i'm assuming Collumpton are very happy to say they beat Plymouth Argyle.

It's fine, as long as it's not at our expense. That's how this works.

Perhaps the SWPL and Devon FA realise the importance of a successful Plymouth Argyle to the local football community and are doing what they can so that might be achieved.

It's exactly the same as the B Team debate. Yes, the club's agreed to it but that doesn't mean that the fans and the players agreed to it - even if their clubs did.

What's worse is that this is their primary competition though. We can have a real, and inconsistent impact on promotions and relegations.

How we would like it if Man United fielded a reserve team against us in a League fixture, that included first team players, for them to play Pompey and play a significantly weaker team?

It's disgraceful.

In my opinion the league will be tight this season (between parkway and Tavistock) if one of the two plays the professionals twice whereas the other team doesn't it will hugely impact the whole season.

Ah yes, Perhaps we should consider the important of our premier teams and how if they are more successful will impact national football, tourism etc. and stop complaining about playing their u23s. Clubs did vote for it after all.

It's a sensitive subject, although last season senior pros didn't really put effort in and you could argue they were better off playing a team with 2 or 3 pros Carey looked bog average when he recently played in it.

Even our apprentices are full time footballers so are much fitter and better rested than someone who has been grafting on a building site all week which is why we often destroy teams in the last 10-15.

A few complaints about Parkway buying it as well. Players stepping down from conference/(South) level to play because the money is better!
