one of the blokes HE said were offering to buy the club every month don't know there name's but there are people out there.

You don't know what they might have offered though. As Graham has said, the club has no assets or value yet JB will have a value of his investment. He would want at the very least to recoup what he has laid out, or at least a good proportion of it. It's a catch 22 for any new owner because they would be mad to weigh in with what is required to buy out JB but then at the end of the day have nothing of real value to show for it. In this sense, the club is just not an attractive proposition.

I don't see how the blame for this recent run of form can land with Brent. He's not the one controlling who makes pointless tackles (Forster- Crawley, Hartley-Dagenham) or the shambles of a 2nd half against a team who get 1k at home ( Accrington) or a keeper who appears superglued to his goal-line and the mistakes he has made recently, especially against Exeter, or Adams refusal to play 2 up front at home. There has been many more errors but its pointless going over them. This squad is good enough to go up, but the injuries in December/ January and the absence of McHugh/ Carey has played a big part I feel in contributing to the downslide. Not Brent's lack of funds.

The size and quality of the squad is a lot to do with it.....but look at Accrington.

They played the best football in this division and relished in the role of being under everyone's radar.

There is more expectation on us, despite recent years of woe, and we did not have the experience and quality to deal with it. We have undoubtedly missed Brunt, but the nonsense with Nardiello, letting Cox go when we hadn't secure Boateng and Simpson being injured, lack of attacking formation at home...have come home to roost.

What should have been an unassailable position at Christmas has been an unmitigated disaster. Yes, we still have a chance but the play offs shouldn't have been necessary.

This was our best chance in year's to get out of this division....if we fail in the play-offs, my fear is that it will be even tougher next year unless we take a very different approach in terms of investment and squad management.

Payday loan FC. It'll be the same story next season as it has been this season and last....minimal squad...does well...injuries and suspension hit, loan players return to parent club....new loans (of diminishing quality) come in and take time to gel....form splutters, Argyle limp over the line and ultimately fail

The signings that we have made mid-season have mostly been failures. Whether this is down to the coaching staff's failure to identify players or Brent's budget, I'm not sure. Let's look at the players we've brought in on loan this season:

Tanner - mediocre player who's had a few good moments, failure on the whole
Threlkeld - hit
Boateng - big hit
Walton - miss
Croll - miss
Forster - complete liability, miss
Nardiello - miss
Houghton - dreadful player, miss
Matt - hit

I make that six out of nine loanees who have been poor on the whole. We need to do better if we want to go up.

Absolutely. And it's the minimal squad that mirrors everything else about PAFC under Brent.

Everything is done on the cheap. Some examples......Look what poor and insufficient maintenance did to the pitch. Look at the rusting stanchions on the horseshoe. The Mayflower seating being taken out to save money when we were in Admin - and never replaced, resulting in the soulless non-atmospheric morgue Home Park has become. Bobbys garden - a disgraceful wasteland. Taking handouts from The Trust to do the most basic of repairs and paintwork on the facade. The never-ending Far Post Club saga.

How many more years under Brent in Division 4 before the penny finally drops with some people?

At the end of the January window Adams is on record as saying we were the best team in the League and we would finish above Northampton.

3 months later he was telling us that we were expecting too much to even get automatic promotion.

Yeah I don't get it. The best team in the league finish 6th but have overachieved. I'm confused.

maybe derek was like many of us with our great start thinking we were already over the line in december.he is young and playing in a much higher standard of football and i think he can learn from this disappointment.

Please stop excusing Adams tactical ineptness because of his age, he's 40 years old and has been a Manager for 8 years.

As for the 4th Division being a much higher standard of football... absolutely ludicrous.

You seriously think that nothing in Scotland compares with the might of Crawley, Barnet and Dagenham?

Is there a link to that statement saying that we were the best team in the league?
You may be right.
I do remember him saying that our aim was to try to catch Northampton which was a reasonable objective but I don't recall him saying "We are the best team in the league".

I find it quite sad that after what the club and staff have gone through over the last 5 years a suggestion of reckless spending is advocated.

I know the Scottish Premier league isn't that great but are you seriously suggesting League 2 is a much higher standard?
