Have we all seen the design of the season ticket leaflet? http://www.pafc.co.uk/documents/pafc-me ... 693721.pdf

Based on this year's club branding taken from the white and green band from the away shirt, I'd say that all but guarantees we will have a lighter shade next season. Especially as the design explicitly puts Jake Jervis in a light green shirt.

We've seen Argyle move towards retro designs and colours with things like this season's aforementioned away shirt, programmes and last season's official handbook.

This Sounds Good !

Here is some analysis based on kits over the years ( please note some kits overlap categories so years do not always add up evenly).
SHADES OF GREEN the original green 51 years.
emerald green 52 years.
current ('Stapleton green?) 16 years
COLOURS USED Green black and white 85 years
Green and white only 28 years
Green and black only 5 years
DESIGN OF SHIRT Predominantly plain green 77 years
Stripes (not pin) 12 years
Hibs style 9 years
White or Green with chest bands 9 years
Plain white with green/black trim 5 years
Green and black halved 3 years ?
Fits no sane category 1 (year 95-96)

what is or what is not traditional I leave up to you.

95/96 rotolock with a modern twist is what im hoping for, as for the shade of green i think imo that argyle is green and green is argyle a 50 shades of green if you like

Can't help but feel that when Adam's mentions a more 'traditional' look to next season's home kit he means a pretty boring plain green shirt with white shorts and white or green socks - no hoops, stripes or whatever? By the way, is it just me or have long sleeved versions of footy shirts been ditched now? You never seem to see 'em being worn by teams any more.

Apparently I am wrong and it is the 87 kit I had, not the 86 shirts. Have to admit that has always been my favourite shade of green that I have seen Argyle play in though.
Would that be the National & Provincial sponsorship rather than Ivor Jones? The shirts themselves were the same, from manufacturer Pilgrim...back in the day before we were slaves to commercialism and simply MUST change shirts every season

It was the green Sunday Independent shirt with the small white pinstripe at the shoulder,, the away kit was exactly the same but with the green and white reversed.

Ah yes, getting my promotion years mixed up.

They were beauties, I too had both. Kinda wished i'd kept them all now but at the time the buckets needed filling with cash as the staff needs were greater.

Annoyingly, despite the real prospect of our demise, at our hour of greatest need the prices I got for my programme and shirt collections were tiny compared to what they go for now. All annoyance of course reserved for the NWO and Heaney/Ridsdale mind, the latter taking how many tens of thousands as the sole employee getting paid? :furious:

Thank god times have improved, a massive consolidation :scarf:

Just a point X'y.

It it were not for Ridsdale 'moving some money' from under the noses of P&A, Argyle would not have had any shirts to play v Shrewsbury.

So he dodgy dealed a dodgy set up, go Peter

Still a C unit in my book

I'm still a bit conflicted by the presence of that away shirt on my wall (I'll conceed that THAT green, the home shade he chose, WAS glopping) it will remain though as a reminder of that episode in our history. Gone but NEVER forgotten.

I believe my nephew still has both the shirts from 87, and I am pretty sure he still has my Rotolok shirt from the 92-94 season as well. The only Argyle related thing I still have here is my old style Argyle scarf which I think I must have got around 85-87 seasons(looking at that scarf and then seeing the Argyle scarfs now it is hard to believe how vastly different they are).
