With O'Connor clearly needed elsewhere on the pitch, and no McHugh present at centre-back I would be seriously tempted to put Wotton in there on Saturday. For a so called, 'past it' player, each of the last three seasons Wotton has come back into the team at Winter/New Year and been seriously effective for us. He has never had pace and he's put in solid defensive performances each time he's previously been accused of having had his day. A player like him with his immense footballing brain could quite easily play until 40 if he had the inclination to do so. The one fly in that ointment however, is that I suspect he has been doing far more coaching then training and thus may not have got himself fit enough for the game. On that basis, I would play:
