Reuben's future

We can't afford to lose a goal scorer, so he needs to stay, my only concern will be whether this is the "Adebayor" factor at work, i.e. if he signs a 3 year deal will he deliver again or not have that necessity to perform?

A 12 month rolling contract would be good. Keep him on his toes and gives us some flexibility.

Reuben is on a Full season Standard Loan with Argyle.

According to Football League Regulations (Players) paragraph 53 2.7 full season standard loans can become permanent transfers at any time during the period of the standard loan (which expires at the end of the season, whenever that may be)

It would appear, therefore, there is no regulatory impediment to securing Reuben on a permanent contract before the end of the season, rather than waiting for 1st July 2014. That would be a statement of intent for next season.

I don't think that applies to players whose contracts are expiring. We cannot sign Reid on a Bosman, or even discuss terms with him, until his Yeovil contract expires.

It would have been different had we agreed a loan deal with a view to a permanent move - as so often happens ahead of the opening of a transfer window - but it doesn't appear as though that happened - so we have to wait.

And besides, the window is currently closed on permanent transfers so that's a non starter anyway.

Only problem with that is IF he has a great start to next season and starts scoring goals again we could lose him cheaply in January with only having 6 months left on his deal.

Much rather have a 2 year deal, no more, no less.

Best Argyle news in a long time. Where would we have been without him this season? Let's nail this for next season and give us season ticket holders something to look forward to. COYG

If not wishing to spend much more time in the middle of L2, one would think Reuben will wish to see some decent signings in the door before committing to stay at pafc.
