For Coventry to release him after playing him over 40 times last season, I can only think they cannot now afford him, or, he is a touch too refined as a player to endure the hurly burly of SKY Bet 2 . His history leads me to think he is a very decent player.

Although it is just a selection of clips it would appear Coventry played him primarily on the right.

Very much so. Obviously only snippets but looks like he would create more than Carey but not bang in as many goals. Great quick feet and an eye for the killer pass which with Fox would be a great combination.

Would mean we needed more goals from the front 2 if this was a Carey replacement IMHO.

He obviously has an eye for a pass and the comparison to Carey is obvious but what we don't know about is his work rate.

For all his skill and technique Carey also puts in a good shift for the team, even when he's not playing well.
Excellent work rate is the bare minimum required in a Derek Adams team.
