There's a lot of uncertainty at the moment regarding the coronavirus not helped by the media whipping up a storm and scaremongering.

It could reach the point where the Government ban large public gatherings so the football season could effectively be over, what happens then? Will the promotion/play-off/relegation places be decided at that point or will future matches including play-off games be played in the summer? Will it really matter anyway?
Does Home Park need a deep clean? :)
Thoughts?

So the media are whipping up a storm and scare mongering. Maybe you should become part of media because that is exactly what you are doing.

No. He's taking the mick out of the subject.

Irony obviously isn't your strong point is it?

Loads of fear over something that's a whole lot of nothing.

If you've got a pre-existing medical condition then you might be in trouble, but for the vast majority of the general public it's just like another flu.

About time this scaremongering was calmed down.

Remember when SARS was the end of the world (a disease with a higher death rate - granted less infections), or bird flu, or swine flu?

I feel sorry for those who have/are suffering with the illness and any losses too, don't get me wrong, but there's loads of fluff and bluster about very little again!

Wrong. Its more infectious than normal flu with higher mortality rate

Much stress over nothing, they should possibly cancel European matches but not our normal season.
I would imagine the euros will be cancelled.

Much stress over nothing you say then suggest the Euros will be cancelled. Makes a lot of sense.

Ahh the voice of reason speaks.... Total nonsense.
The euros are going to be played in many countries so no point running the risk, meanwhile in the UK we are playing... In the UK.
So to play all over runs the risk of spreading whilst playing in the UK is less likely, sorry I didn't explain myself you douche.

Have a night off. Site Admin.

Does anybody remember if there was this much panic in 2008/9 when statistics apparently show that there were almost 13,000 deaths in the UK from 'normal' flu, when the yearly average is 600? 2012/13 also had a very high figure. The reason I ask is because I certainly don’t remember. Or was it that the figures weren’t published until the following year!

I did say to the general public, for those with pre-existing medical issues, or above a certain age it's more deadlier than the flu.

For the general public (basically everyone not included in my requirements above) it's just a catchier flu

Right - so apart from the fact that more people die and its more infectious its just the same as ordinary flu
