As things stand Bolton's next 2 home games will be played without any supporters in the stadium due to safety concerns.

Sad state of affairs.

Given another month to sort their problems out, next hearing is 8th May.

I'm assuming that any points deduction would now apply for next season? 8th May is after this season finishes!

Given them a chance to avoid relegation rather than guaranteeing it.

I think the EFL did the right thing here, given if they were going to get penalised they would guarantee relegation and you could argue they'd be relegated anyway, so no penalty.

The real cost to them will be next season starting on the back foot.

There not in administration yet it's a petition to put them in administration hence no points deduction

So Lawrence Besini is the prospective buyer. Twice bankrupt and was banned for three years from owning a football club for alleged financial irregularities.

If you were a Bolton fan, where would you stand. Besini or administration with a 12 point deduction next season and the hope that there might be someone else out there?

Well at least the Bolton fans can relax now that the FA/EFL have ensured that their club will be run by a fit and proper person! Bravo!!

The term "fit and proper person test" is a media generated term and is not something in that meaning that the EFL are legally allowed to carry out. His past is his past and his previous misdemeanours are now spent. All their test can really do is ensure that the money he is promising is real and comes from legitimate sources.

Is the test a one off?

The murky dealings st Blackpool in recent seasons could not have passed any test surely?

What in all seriousness could the EFL have done in the Blackpool situation? Running a football club for personal gain isn't illegal. What Oyston did wrong was to take more than his fair share seeing as there were other share holders. As much as we love the fairytale that the club belongs to the fans and owners are just custodians, in a court of law it means nothing.

Word has it that the Bolton players will refuse to play against Brentford unless they're paid by the end of today.

Game now postponed.

Bolton will be charged by EFL with misconduct. Bassini has not formally taken over but his commitment to pay players yesterday has not materialised.

Given his record with us at Watford it wouldn't surprise if the players didn't get paid and Bassini failed to complete the take over.

The bloke had a very dodgy record even before taking us over!

Twice bankrupt and changed his name..

Then when at the club often cried off from fans forums at the last minute and often fell out with his own staff.
