Two players we are going to miss badly if they left or got injured.

One is Taylor. The second is Toums.

Look how long and how many players it took to find a decent replacement in midfield. These players just aren’t available to magically pluck out of thin air and who suit your system.

Toums had a similar impact to what Nalis did. He did the simple things well. Improved the midfield by giving it a presence. He made those around him play better by his own performances and presence. Look how much Fox has played better in midfield since Toums has been there.

It’s the same scenario with Carey and Taylor. Since Taylor has come back Carey has improved his performances and been more consistent.

Over the past month Toums seems to really have found his feet in the side. He played in a more forward role and with the addition of Lameiras to the team it has looked much better going forward.

Massive blow l feel. People maybe looking up but with his departure l think we still have a job to do to secure our survival. However, his performances over the past month have given us a very good chance of league one survival.

Thanks for everything Toums. :scarf:

Real shame that he is leaving after being instrumental in the turn around. Can't blame him at all, if he had been rubbish or got injured we would happily have released him so take the rough with the smooth

Good luck Toums

Sorry Beyton I think its perfectly clear its a decision based on his family. They according to reports are settled and he is rightly putting them first.
I'm sure we made him a very attractive offer, but unless you sign up for the military or overseas employment, you expect to spend time with your family daily. There is not a price to be put on that.

Good Luck Toums, your efforts will be remembered warmly.

Real shame it wasn't for longer but what a fantastic signing he proved.

It's worth remembering how low we were when he signed. We had just lost at home to Fleetwood and were rock bottom and adrift with 5 points from 12 games, having just taken 1 point from the previous 9 matches. He's leaving with us on 34 points from 27, that's 29 points from 15 games, that is a frankly stunning turnaround and congratulations to all concerned.

Not all down to Toums of course, Taylor returning and improvements in the form of several others particularly Carey, but his presence seemed a real catalyst.

Gutted he's off but thanks Toums!!

What odds he will be playing against us for Doncaster next Sat, and contributing to our first defeat in how many games? Just saying - not based on any rumour.

Should have stayed here.Could have witnessed and been part of an amazing rest of the season,if our form can continue.

No loyalty in football at any level

He wants to be with his family, every one of us with a family can understand that.

Let's hope Derek agrees he needs replacing and finds someone this window.

Thanks Toums

Few players will have a better win ratio over 15 games played than Toums, he’s made a fantastic contribution. Hope he does well and hope it’s back in Championship. Best of luck

What loyalty does he owe us? He can probably double or even treble the salary Argyle are paying him by going elsewhere, and I would imagine play at a club higher in the league. It's a short career and the guy had just spent four/five months out of work. He gave everything for his employer whilst he was here, which is all you can ask of anyone on short term contract in any industry.

What a load of tosh being spouted that he has gone for cash over football. He may just want to be near his family and who on here would not want more money if they could get it. He has no affinity with Argyle, he has helped us brilliantly and we have given him a platform to get a move nearer home and possibly secured his future on a longer contract than we offered him. Thanks Toums and be a huge success in your future.

Gutted he is leaving but you could see at the end he was saying goodbye.

Our turn around is partly down to him turning up at HP. I dont think there is anyone at the club who can fill his shoes and finding someone of this calibre in the transfer window will be difficult. Saying that he didnt have a club in October so there are players around.

Thanks for everything Toums

At least we’ve identified the type of player required, that’s half of the battle
