People keep talking about a lack of quality players being brought in. We have to realise that we can't necessarily afford quality. Bury apparently bought in quality to excess and look where that has got the club. Mr Lowe has probably learnt from that and is being a bit more circumspect. He has brought in some of the core of his team from last season, and is still looking, but we may well have to use what we have and hope the coaching team can produce the results we all crave.

We have a very competitive budget for this league - and it’s been boosted by half a mill through the sale of Freddie. Added to which we’ve shredded our highest earners, so there’s plenty of room to manoeuvre.

We do have a competitive budget.
We do NOT know that the money for Ladapo has been given to Mr. Lowe. We also do not know if we have received it, or if it is coming in chunks over the next xx months.
We have lost some of our highest earners, but we now have a player who is 'better than Lameiras and Carey' and we don't know how much the new players are on. Mayor may well be on Lameiras + Carey money!

We may well be playing hard-ball with other clubs/players who think we have a lot of money to spend.

All we do know is that an exciting player from a big club isn't going to be another Bury player.

This time of the year always makes me laugh on this board re. people being underwhelmed with signings. Who do they think we're going to sign, a Prem player that just fancies a change?

Surely the best we can get are players that have proven ability to win promotion out of this league. Oh look, we now have that.

All those knocking the current players arriving at Home Park should bear this in mind.

The difference this close season is that we haven't signed 6 or 8 strangers but a nucleus of former team mates so hopefully a relatively quick bedding in process.

Apparently, a Wolves journalist who is out in China at the moment, said that Ennis is starting against Newcastle tomorrow and is then going to make a decision about where he wants to go but we are definitely in for him for the season.
