That is a brilliant idea (unless I have misunderstood)
Argyle vs an England XI (when fans are allowed back in of course). Money going to a charity of his families choice or another relevant worth while cause. One of his family members could actually make an appearance for the England squad to put right (as much as possible) this massive wrong.
Have done some digging. In those days, players were nominated for a benefit season, when they shared the proceeds of various events over the year with a few others. Jack Leslie was awarded a benefit season along with Tommy Grozier and Norman Mackay in 1933-34, which culminated in a match against Bristol City at the end of the season. Here's the report in the Western Morning News. Enough said.KeithB":31ftg64s said:Did Jack ever have a testimonial game?

Ticking along at about £1000 a day, which is what it needs to get to the target.

He never played a first-team match for West Ham United, but Jack Leslie will forever be an East End football hero.
