And that's where the supposedly breaks down isn't it.

Assessing there're better options out there than Kyle L, or Macey, is entirely fair enough. But no keeper who can distribute well and be safe on crosses and long shots is frankly likely to be turning up at a midtable L2 team are they.

I'm sure Lowe thinks 50 million quid attacking full backs are a great thing, but instead try making an attacking threat out of Gary Sawyer, there's the task.

Lowe supposedly likes his team to play like Liverpool and Manchester City who have athletic keepers who are comfortable with the ball at their feet, can spot a long pass and play as a sweeper keeper, it seems Lowe has come to the conclusion that Letheren cannot play this way.

So are you saying that Letheren decided it was better to be unemployed than accept the contract Argyle offered simply because as he had done in most of his time at Argyle he wouldn’t be playing?

Maybe the contract offer was so low it wasn’t financially viable for him to remain in Plymouth. There are many reasons he may have decided to move.

Is it really that inconceivable?

Last season he proved to be a decent enough option at League 1 level so it wouldn't surprise me if a few L2 clubs were interested in his services as a first choice.

He's spent most of his career as a backup and said as much when he came in for Macey. Now that he's coming to the end of his career he can't be blamed for wanting to play the game he's worked his whole life for.

If the options were act as cover for us or chance it for a starting job in L2 or top end of the National League then it was surely worth a gamble.

Somewhere on here instead one of the possible loan signings from Rangers was a goalkeeper. Maybe something in it and that is what he was told and that he could be third choice

Yes it is inconceivable and no he did not decide to take a gamble.

Didn't RL say that some players had been asked/told to make their mind up and accept by last Thursday?
Maybe he didn't and maybe RL decided to show his mettle?

Lameiras doesn't? Ermmmm ... maybe give him a few more days?

'No'

Your last three posts above.
Letheren said that staying was 'beyond his control'. So, in view of your posts, what did happen then?
