New Striker - Billy Clarke signs

5`7`striker scored 2 goals in 39 games over 2 years has had serious knee injuries ruptured ACL in both knees. Will be 32 in December. Maybe we should look to North America, the 3 main leagues, MLS, USL and CPL seasons are nearly over, a lot of the players will be free agents starting after this weekend.

We can only sign players who were free agents before our transfer closed on 2 September.

Ah well it was a thought.

weve historically had problems getting players to relocate from anywhere up north. Not sure how easy it will be to convince players from USA to relocate from LA, Boston or New york to Plymouth.

You may have a problem with visas and work permits at our level trying to sign American and Mexican players. Unless they have 25 international caps or whatever the criteria is.

We haven't even signed the bloke yet but he is already being written off by some. Lowe is not going to sign a player just for the sake of it.

Considering the heitgh of Telford as well as Clarke, there is the possibility of Argyle having the shortest strike force in League 2. I suppose it could be quite a new tactic to run through a CB's legs :lol:

Rather than jump on Ted's post and attack, it's obvious they didn't just mean a transfer fee.

We have 12 League games plus one or possibly two FA Cup fixtures before the next transfer window opens. With the prevalence of injuries to strikers / attacking midfielders and the ability to sign free agents is restricted to pre-2nd September within England. There aren't many who fit that bill and who have remained in full time training and have done a pre-season.

I would suspect that Ryan Lowe is trying to be pragmatic on a short term basis, in the first instance. He can use the younger players like Lolos, Randell and Wilson to fulfill the Central League, Leasing.Com and Premier League Cup fixtures without risking any other first team injuries to key players.
