The ref was correct in how he restarted play and followed the guidelines to the letter of the law. The fact Grimsby didn’t give the ball back to us isn’t his fault or problem..

Can’t believe the stick he’s getting over this incident when he was in fact correct...

His only mistake was maybe not stopping the game a bit earlier.

That was the only problem I had was he waited until he did to stop play.

Am I the only one who thought that the ref had a good game?
He tried to play advantage nine times out of ten, and if there was no advantage brought it back.

This was an interesting debate.
Based on the number of votes, the highest percentage (25%) was for 8/10. 54% gave him 7/10 or better.
It seems to suggest that most of those who voted thought that he did OK.
I have to admit I gave him 8 and I didn’t know the law about the resumption of play when the referee stops it in the penalty area.
